Richard Clark Estes, a longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on October 17, 2016 in Claremore, Oklahoma.

Richard was born in Austin, Texas, on March 5, 1937. He was the son of Clark Milton and Myra Cross (Justis) Estes. His childhood years were spent in Fort Worth and Houston. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1955. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1960 earning his Bachelor of Science. He was also an alumni of Rice University where he received his Master's degree in chemical engineering in 1962.

Richard was employed at Phillips Petroleum Company in the research and development department. He retired from Phillips in 1986.

Richard was a devoted Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bartlesville where he had occasion to play the piano, organ, and sing in the choir. He also served in the tape ministry at his church. Richard leaves behind many friends and acquaintances from his time spent at Phillips and from his church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Richard's name be made to the Baptist Foundation of Oklahoma, Myra Cross Scholarship Fund, 3800 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73112.

Services for Richard will be held on October 27 at 10:00 AM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home chapel, 710 S. Dewey Ave.

Burial will be in the Estes family plot in Paris, Texas at a later date.

Arrangements for Mr. Estes are under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
