Alan Dale Estes

May 3, 1924 ~ Oct. 31, 2007

A memorial service for Alan Dale Estes, 83, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. His remains were donated to Anatomy Gifts Registry.

He was born May 3, 1924, near Kremlin to Mahlon and Edna King Estes and died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

He graduated from high school in Hunter.

He married Virginia Maner Sept. 27, 1953, in Peggs. In 1958, they made their home in Kremlin. He worked for Farmers Grain Coop of Kremlin, retiring in 1986.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia, of the home; one daughter, Donna Gannon of Kremlin; two sons, Lewis Estes of Kremlin and Larry Estes of North Richland Hills, Texas; one sister, Ruth Umber of Watonga; two brothers, Charles Estes of Seattle, Wash., and James Estes of Enid; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, cancer division.
