William Edward "Bill" English

November 11, 1934 ~ July 7, 2014

William Edward "Bill" English, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on November 11, 1934, in Warrenton, Georgia, and departed this life on July 7, 2014, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 79 years.

Bill was the son of John Waymond and Grace Lucille McAlister English.

He married Edith West on October 6, 1962, in Georgia.

Bill served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, Vietnam War and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Command Master Chief English had 20 cruises during his career, USS Enterprise, USS Independence, USS Oriskany, USS Shangri-La, USS Kitty Hawk, USS Constitution, USS Ticonderoga, USS Ranger, USS Coral Sea, USS Midway, USS Nimitz and he also rode backseat in the P2-V Neptune.

His parents preceded Bill in death.

Survivors include five sons, David English of Minnesota, Charles David English of California, Robert G. English, Washington, Richard Hoertz of Texas, and William E. Hoertz of Florida; three daughters, Deborah Williams, California, Kathryn Marie Davis of California and Anne English of Washington, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
