August 6, 1939 ~ October 25, 2019

A Celebration of Life for Ed Emerson, age 80, of Enid, is 10:00 am, Friday, November 1, 2019 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 31st at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Ed was born August 6, 1939 in Wichita, Kansas to Charles and Betty Emerson, and passed away at home in Enid after an extended illness on Friday, October 25, 2019.

He attended school in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa where he studied music, eventually obtaining his Masters in Music degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was assigned to the Army Band. While stationed in Hawaii, he married Elizabeth Oliver on December 29, 1963. Ed taught vocal and instrumental music at Zenda, Kansas; Cherokee, Oklahoma; Lahoma, Oklahoma; and Covington-Douglas Public Schools. He worked for Chenoweth and Green Music Store and Jensen's Music Store repairing band instruments. He also worked at NOC in Tonkawa and Enid in their music departments. He was a member of North Enid Lions Club and the Model T Ford Club of America; the Oklahoma Special-T's and the Antique Automobile Club of America. Ed was involved with the Boy Scout's of America, serving as a leader through the Christian Church in Enid.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Emerson. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Emerson, of the home in Enid; three sons, Lee Emerson, of Pensacola, FL; Eric Emerson and wife Rhonda, of Enid; David Emerson of Enid; six grandchildren; brother, Paul Emerson and wife Wanda, of Diamond, MO; sister Kate Stulce and husband Terry, of Ooltewah, TN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial's in Ed's name may be made to the North Enid Lion's Club or to the charity of choice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
