Leonard "Lenny" Ely, Jr.
March 22, 1956 ~ April 14, 2015

Leonard "Lenny" Ely, Jr. was born March 22, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan to Sally and Leonard Abney Ely, Sr.. He passed away April 14, 2015 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years and 22 days.

At a young age Lenny moved with his family all over the United States while his father served in the U.S. Army. At the age of 18, Lenny moved to Elk City where he held various jobs including cooking for Great Plains Regional Medical Center and also the Holiday Inn. He was married to Suprena Fay (Snowden) Ely, at Sayre, Oklahoma on October 14, 1991 and they continued to make Elk City their home. In 2005 ill health forced his retirement. Lenny enjoyed listening to music, reading, going for walks and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Suprena, of the home; 5 children, Sheree Calder and husband, Charles, Elk City, OK, Shiloh Ely and wife, Kayla, Elk City, OK, Jared Snowden and wife, Robin, Horse Head, NY, Ashley Thompson and husband, Jerrod, Elk City, OK, Cameron Bortell, Elk City, OK; 10 grandchildren, Logan, Emily, Dezirae, Carter, Brackston, Dakota, Nevaeh, Dani, Kamri, Ansleigh, sister, Cynthia Frost and husband, Chip, Pueblo, CO; and a host of other relatives and friends.
