Phyllis Sue Ellison was born August 7, 1946 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Ruth (Dial) and Dotson "Dot" Bertsel Ellison. She passed away June 17, 2018 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 10 days.

Sue was raised in the Spring Creek community. She attended Ocina School from 1st through 7th grade, Delhi school from 8th through 11th grade and graduated from Sayre High School in 1964. Sue found employment for W.F. Sides & Son Insurance and Real Estate from July 1964 to April 1970. She later worked at Sayre Memorial Hospital from April 13, 1970 to July 1989 in the medical records department. Sue completed the medical record correspondence course and passed the medical record exam becoming an accredited record technician in 1972. She served as director of medical record for 17 years with Sayre Memorial Hospital. Sue also worked for the Beckham County Abstract Company from August 1989 to March 1998.

While living in the Spring Creek community she was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church. After graduation from high school, she served in the church as devotional leader in the youth department, and also served as the sunday school secretary and pianist. In 1978 she moved to Sayre where she placed her membership with the Sayre First Baptist Church. Sue joined the Sayre Memorial Auxiliary in 2008 as a volunteer and also volunteered her time at the church helping with funeral meals. In her spare time, Sue enjoyed taking trips with her niece, Nikki and spending time with her church family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Harold and Joe Ellison.

She is survived by her brother, Larry Ellison, Elk City, OK; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2018, 11:00 AM at Rose Chapel in Sayre, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service and condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com

Memorial donations can be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children and mailed to OBHC, 3800 North May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73112-6506.
