December 16, 1942 ~ December 26, 2020

Sammie Kay Ellis 78, of Mead, Oklahoma passed away Saturday December 26, 2020 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born December 16, 1942 in Vernon, Texas to James and Blanche Lawhorn Woods.

She Married Bill (Andy) Ellis on July 24, 1959 It was a loving marriage that produced 4 Children Charlotte, Bill, Kayleen and Gaylon and lasted more than 23 years.

Sammie was the cook at the Silo Community Center for many years. She made yeast rolls from scratch 4 days a week and they were delicious.

She loved going on motorcycle runs and rally's with Luther Mash. It was one of these motorcycle rally's at the age of 68 she got her first tatoo then preceded to almost traumatize her Grandsons by showing them her new tatoo.

Sammie liked to read. She collected salt & pepper shakers and minature tea sets, spun glass and betty boop items and she loved to dance. She would play records and dance with her kids when they were young. Even in the monts before her death she danced with Gaylon, Charlotte, Casey, Ginny, Kelsey Kay and William Blake.

Sammie was a loving, caring, giving and compassionate Woman and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mead. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Brother Tommy Don Shempert, Son William (Bill) Ellis, Jr. and Daughter Kayleen (Ellis) Davis.

Sammie is survived by her Daughter Charlotte (Ellis) Johnson Bednarik and husband Dave, Son Gaylon Ellis and wife Pamela. 4 Grandchildren James Acie Johnson, Casey Davis and wife Ginny, Dustin Davis and Cody Davis and wife Lindee. 16 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren with a 6th one on the way and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

There is no service set at this time. Her Family will schedule a Memorial celebrating her life at a later date.
