Marvin Ray 'Marty' Ellis
April 14, 1949 ~ April 17, 2020 (age 71)

Marvin Ray ‘Marty’ Ellis, age 71, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, peacefully at home in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born April 14, 1949, in New Castle, Indiana, to Norvil and Lillian Licht Ellis.

Marty was a mortgage broker, business consultant and entrepreneur. He had a passion for chicken fried steak, Cracker Barrel Friday fish fry, strawberry shortcake, coffee and Pall Mall cigarettes. He enjoyed traveling to check out new business ventures, watching sports and news on TV and researching projects on the computer.

Marty is survived by his beloved companion, Betty Watson; her son, Brian; his two daughters, Angie and Elaine, all of Norman, Oklahoma; his two sisters, Rita Mills and her husband Mike of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Wanda Hiatt of St. Petersburg, Florida; two nieces, Holly Murphy of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Lisa Erickson of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Normal and Lillian Licht Ellis.

A private family viewing was held on Saturday, April 18, 2020. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date this summer.
