L. B. Ellis

May 18, 1928 ~ April 14, 2005

A graveside service will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home for L. B. Ellis, age 76, on Monday, April 18, 2005, at 11 a.m., at Shafter Memorial Park. Pastor Mike Polley of the Valley Bible Church of Shafter will officiate at the service.

L. B. was born in Durant, Oklahoma, to Treva and Florence Ellis. He came to Shafter in 1939, and attended the local schools; and married Jewel Hill on June 11, 1948. L. B. was a member of the Elks Club and enjoyed fishing. He loved his wife and kids and treasured moments spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas; daughter, Karen; grandson, Jason Brown. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jewel; daughters, Linda Wilson and husband, Mickey and Sandi Brown and husband, Philip; son, Darwin Ellis and wife, Jannette; brothers, Jimmy, Denver, Lefty and wife, Irene, and Jerry and wife, Cathy; sisters, Olene Carroll and husband, Paul, Omega Smith and husband, Kenny and Gloria Nell Icho and husband, Alan; daughter-in-law, Sally; grandchildren, Michael, Jeremy and wife, Julie Wilson, Mark, Anthony, Eric and wife, Vanessa Brown, Brian and wife, Jennifer, Bradley, and Benjamin Ellis, Danny and wife, Jennifer and Stacy Cress; great grandchildren, Lane, Amber, Ryan, Aaron, Kaitlyn and Janelle.

Visitation begins Sunday, April 17, 2005 from 2-8 p.m. and Monday, April 18, 2005 from 9-10 a.m. at Peters Funeral Home, in Shafter.
