January 21, 1942 ~ September 1, 2023

Carl Ellis age 81, of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away on September 1, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. Carl was born on January 21, 1942, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to James William and Lillian Bernice (Gibson) Ellis. He married Peggy Morton on March 2, 1962, in Oklahoma City, and they were blessed with three children, Carl Jr., Kim, and Wayne Carl worked as a truck driver until his retirement and he and Peggy moved to Lake Texoma in 2000 from Jones, Oklahoma to enjoy their retirement years. Carl was of the Baptist faith, and he enjoyed fishing, camping, skiing, bowling, shooting the bull with friends, but most of all he loved his family and treasured the time he spent with them.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents William and Lillian Ellis; brother Billy Ellis; sister Patricia Barton and niece Billie Dawn Ellis.

Family and friends left behind to continue Carl’s legacy are his loving wife Peggy Ellis of the home; children Carl Jr. Ellis and wife Mary of Kingston, OK, Kim Longley and husband Vern of Jones, OK and Wayne Ellis and wife CC of Jones, OK; sisters Ruby Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK, Shirley Muse of Ardmore, OK and Connie Buckaloo of Kingston, OK; brother Kenneth Ellis of Kingston, OK; aunt Mackey Hill of Tulsa, OK; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and numerous extended family and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Brown’s Funeral Service Madill, OK. Pastor Terry Saunders will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Ellis Jr., Wayne Ellis, Vern Longley, Daniel Longley, Mikel Cozart, Travis Honea, Billie Wayne Honea, Joey Bell, and Ethan Jay.
