ENID, OK - Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Jeanette "Jenny" Buchanan Ekstrom, 67, of Enid, Okla., will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Jenny was born Sept. 28, 1946, in Enid, Okla., the daughter of Kenneth and Glenna Wampler Buchanan and died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, in Enid.
She was employed for many years as an X-ray technician. After returning to Enid, she helped her father run the families restaurant, Tia Juana.
Jenny was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She will be remembered as a person who put others first, always wanting to serve.
Survivors include her father, Kenneth; sister, Barbara Marshall of Enid; sister-in-law, Judy Buchanan of Enid; two nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Lyle Guy Battin, her mother and a brother, Glen Buchanan.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Circle of Love, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
