Edwards, Bernice passed away quietly and peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2005.
Born Bernice Williams on October 2, 1930 in Oklahoma City was one of 13 children. Bernice remembered the cold nights and poor days she had as a child. She never thought she would be blessed with such a wonderful life.
She dearly loved her sister Dora Gardner. Dora, her last surviving sibling still lives in Oklahoma. She loved each of her sisters and brothers in the Williams and Edwards family.
She loved her family and is survived by her daughter, Deborah Edwards, her son - Steve Edwards and his wife Kathy; grandchildren - Karen Herron and Kelly Edwards, great-grandchildren- Jacob Herron and Megan Edwards.
She retired from the Montebello school district in 1980 as one of the first staff members on the 'Head Start Program.'
Bernice loved to travel with her husband Stanley, who was the love of her life. They shared a 37-year marriage. In the late 1930's she met her life long -friend, Jean Glasgow. Jean and her husband Nolan still reside in Oklahoma. Another very special friend is Chris Hasty.
Bernice will be missed.
