Thomas Joseph Eckroat

???? ~ January 21, 2020

Thomas Joseph Eckroat was a loving brother, devoted husband, beloved father, and a very proud papa. He was known for his positive attitude, signature ‘Chevy Chase’ smile, and his countless corny jokes. His greatest loves included his late wife of 50 years Janice; his two children Steve Eckroat and Brandie Galvin; and his six grandchildren Taylor Eckroat, Austin Eckroat, Glenn Galvin, Grant Galvin, Gabrielle Galvin, and Grace Galvin. He took pleasure in hunting trips, OSU sports, cryptoquotes, and most of all Payday candy bars.

As a kid he used to spell his name backwards...Mot. When he was diagnosed with lung cancer he faced it with a positive attitude and a big smile. He called it ‘Mot’s great adventure’. When his best friend (his wife) of 50 years passed away he said with a tear and a big smile, “guess this is chapter two of Mot’s great adventure”. After battling Alzheimer’s for last two years, Tom began his heavenly journey home Tuesday, January 21. He peacefully passed away after his siblings, children, and grandkids expressed their love and kissed him goodbye. Now he and his best friend are reunited and get to start the last and final chapter of Mot’s great adventure together .......both smiling from ear to ear.
