Walter Eberhart

Walter Eberhart, 92, of Leon passed away Friday, February 19, 2016, in Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta. No services are scheduled.

Mr. Eberhart was born at Muenster, Texas on April 2, 1923, the son of Edward and Minnie Temple Eberhart. A resident of Leon for the past eight years, he previously lived in Gainesville, Texas for 55 years. Mr. Eberhart had worked in the oil field as a roughneck for 40 years and also enjoyed raising cattle and chickens. He was a Catholic.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Herman and Bill Eberhart; and two sisters, Isabelle Steltzer and Madella Eberhart.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Sue Eberhart of Gainesville, Pat Eberhart of Leon, and Tim and Erin Eberhart of Canton, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Joanie and Jon Price of Canton; three sisters, Elvira Flusche of Lindsay, Texas, Margie Krahl of Muenster, nad Dorothy Smith of Gainesville; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
