Douglas N. Eagon, 72 year old former Woodward businessman, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 in Oklahoma City. Private family services are being held. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Douglas Noland Eagon was born in Shattuck on February 5, 1952 to Hershel and Jean (Love) Eagon. He began school in Sharon and graduated from Sharon-Mutual in 1970. He was very involved in 4-H and loved to participate in speech contests. He went on to Graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in the College of Allied Health and Science with a Physical Therapy degree and became a staff Physical Therapist at St Paul Hospital Dallas, Texas from 1974-1975. From 1975-1977 he was the Assistant Administrative Director of Physical Medicine at St. Paul. Then went on to Kilgore, Texas where he was the Director of Physical Medicine at East Texas Rehabilitation Center from 1977-1979.
Douglas started private practice in Woodward, Oklahoma in May 1979. He married Teresa Bennett in June 1979 in Plainview, Texas. They were blessed with two daughters Chandra Lynn and Devan Renee. Douglas had his private practice from 1979-2004. He was a Sunday School teacher, Deacon and was involved with Stephen Ministry. Douglas began his work in Real Estate in 2005 until he and Teresa moved to Oklahoma City in 2020. He was a member of Crossings Community Church - OKC.
Douglas was survived by his wife Teresa and two daughters Chandra and husband Rusty Roush; Devan and husband Matt Twyman; Grandchildren Lillian, Sophia, Evelyn and Nolan Roush, Jackson and George Twyman; one brother Clay Don Eagon; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Jean Eagon, sister Lynette Eagon and stepfather Howard Harper.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crossings Voice of Hope Initiative with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
