Columbus “Stoney” Eagle, son of Jim and Maude (Flynn) Eagle, was born on March 30, 1947 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 18, 2021 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at 74 years of age.
Stoney married the love of his life, LouAnn (Daughtry) Eagle, on December 31, 1970.
Together they had 3 children: Sherri Denise Cooksey and husband Michael, Sheryl Dawn Barnes, Michael Duane Eagle and Brandi Eagle. Grandchildren: Michael Cooksey, Jr. Cody Bean Cooksey, Drew Barnes, Nicole Cooksey, Aubrey Barnes, Tyler Eagle. Great Grandchildren: Kyde Barnes, Cody Lane Cooksey, Adam Phillips, Talon Barnes, Madallie Barnes, Paisley Eagle. Stoney had 4 brothers: Junior Sonny Eagle, Lawrence Eagle, Eugene Butch Eagle and James Garland Eagle. 5 sisters: Daisy Eagle, Christine Feeling, Louise Littlejohn, Deloris Eagle, Dorthy Foster.
He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and became a Deacon of the church on December 14, 1997.
Stoney loved going to the car races with his friends, going on 4-wheeler trail rides, enjoyed going to his cabin and watching wrestling on Monday nights. He loved his friends and family.
His hobbies included working on his ’69 Chevy, hunting, fishing and playing with his grandkids.
His church family will miss his Cherokee singing and dedication to his church.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
