James Louis Eads

James Louis Eads
March 31, 1944 ~ October 10, 2015

James Louis Eads of Aurora, Colorado, died at home on October 10, 2015. He was born March 31, 1944, to Jewell Worley Eads and Felix (Buck) Eads in Stilwell, Oklahoma, Adair County, Bell Community.

He was a 1962 graduate of Stilwell High School. He attended Northeastern State University and Oklahoma State University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1965. In 1976, he earned his Master's Degree in Secondary School Administration from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, where he spent several years as Assistant Coach. He recruited and coached the K-State Junior Varsity to an 11-0 record, the best in KSU history. He was one of the coaches when the Kansas State basketball team visited Japan in the Kirin World Basketball '81 exhibition.

James coached 8 seasons of high school basketball in Oklahoma schools Hulbert, Muldrow, and Broken Arrow. His record in Oklahoma was a coaching 134-42 coaching mark.

After his college experience, he moved to Colorado to work in the Cherry Creek Schools in Denver as the Director of Athletics/Dean of Students.

James Louis was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Fred Eads and Penelope (Ross) Eads and his maternal grandparents Luther Worley and Lynda (Gragg) Worley, his parents, a brother Felix Eads, Jr., and a sister Aretha Jean Eads.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, son Michael and daughter Taylor of the home; a sister Patsy Lynn Eads Morton and husband Neil of Stilwell; sisters Penelope Eads Brannon, Pamela Eads Snyder, Deborah Eads Lawrence and Terri Eads Hall; son Eric of Tulsa and a daughter Jamie Cox of Tulsa and three grandchildren. Also surviving him are nieces and nephew Camille M. Stevenson, Shawna M. Cain and Nason N. Morton along with numerous family and friends.

Services for James Louis were held earlier in Parker, Colorado, under the direction of the Parker/Elizabeth Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held later in Stilwell. Details will be published in newspapers and on social media by the family and friends.
