Daniel Wayne "Dan" Dye
September 21, 1959 ~ August 5, 2020 (age 60)

Daniel Wayne "Dan" Dye was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on September 21, 1959 to Donald and Mable "Irene" (Robins) Dye. He passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on August 5, 2020 at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 15 days.

Dan grew up in Cheyenne, Oklahoma where he graduated from high school in 1979. After high school he worked in the oilfield before he began his over 32 year career with Northfork Electric where he was a lineman. Dan married Vicki Salmon in Wheeler, Texas on March 15, 2004. Dan enjoyed motorcycles and riding on the poker runs to support fellow bikers. He loved tinkering in his shop doing woodwork and making metal windmills. Dan volunteered on the Crawford and Reydon Volunteer Fire Departments before transferring to the Cheyenne Volunteer Fire Department where he dedicated over 30 years of service. Dan had served as Captain and Assistant Chief and was currently known for his roll as "Lieutenant Dan". Dan volunteered his time with numerous organizations and was well known throughout Roger Mills county for his willingness to help those in need at any time of the day or night. His greatest love was his family and especially his grandchildren.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki, of the home, 2 sons, Dustin Dye and Devin Dye, Cheyenne, OK, 2 daughters, Stephanie Evans, Hallsville, TX and Stacey Holliefield, Colorado Spring, CO, 2 sisters, Lea Ann MaGouira, Marshall, TX and Jennifer Whitson, Cheyenne, OK, 1 brother, Bill Dye, Klamath Falls, OR, and a host of other relatives and friends.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Cheyenne Fire Department.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church at 10:00 AM under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Cheyenne. Live broadcasting of the service can be viewed on Facebook live at FBC Cheyenne OK. The radio broadcast can be found on FM 88.3. This broadcast can only be heard in the close proximity of the church parking lot.
