The memorial service for Frederick E. Durrett, 75, Moscow, Texas, is 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Hawley Bethel Baptist Church, Nash, with the Rev. Gary Lilly officiating.
Fred was born March 23, 1941, in Guthrie, and died Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at home. He attended Capital Elementary School in Guthrie. He attended Gore School until it closed. He then attended Jefferson High School, where he graduated in 1959. After graduation, he entered the navy and served on the U.S.S. Oriskany, CVA-34, in Vietnam. Returning home, he bought his first airplane and that started his aviation career with Underwood Aviation in Guthrie. He received a call from Exxon Mobil and he moved to Dallas, Texas, to work as a pipeline patrol pilot, retiring at 65.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Durrett, Pauline Keil and William Dellenbaugh, and his loved brother, Lloyd E. Durrett.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Reedy Durrett, and brothers Lynn and Ronnie Dellenbaugh. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Rachael and Jason Grando, Joe and Candy Durrett, Scott Autry, Julie Davis, Guston and Amanda Dillenbaugh. His great-nieces and great-nephews, Walker Grando, Zane and Kaitlyn Durrett; Jake, Jenna and Jaylee Davis, and Walker A. Dellenbaugh.
