Betty Kay Manus was born on July 29, 1948 to Jack and Edna Manus in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She departed this life December 26, 2019 at the age of 71 years, 4 months, and 28 days. Betty grew up and attended school in Bristow Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, John Durham, on August 1st, 1980. Together they raised two children, Thomas and Tonya Marsey.
Betty spent over 30 years working in home health while helping John run the family ranch. She enjoyed game nights, spending hours and hours playing spades, Uno, and Wahoo with her friends and family. Her happiest times were spent with her grandkids at little league ball games. Betty helped run the Depew Little League for over 10 years. In that time, she helped instill her love of sports into all of her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her husband of nearly 40 year, John of the home; two sisters, Donna Hall of Depew and Lois Cox of Bristow; Two brothers, Mike Manus and wife Karen of Bristow and Ronald Manus of Bristow; one brother in law, Jack Tanksley of Edmond; two children, Thomas Marsey of McAlester and Tonya Marsey of Depew; six grandchildren, Chance and Wife Stephanie, Diamond and husband Calvin, Kie’ Anna Shelton, Shania Shelton, and Tallo Nunley, all of Depew, and Neosha Nunley of McAlester; 8 great grandchildren with one on the way, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who were extended family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Brenda Sue Tanksley. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 4th at the Ivan Reeder Auditorium. Flowers can be sent to Hutchins, Maples, and Matherly Funeral home in Bristow.
