Jimmie Inez Duren age 90 of Purcell, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 in Norman. She was born October 28, 1927 in Purcell. She was the 4th child of five children born to Ben Workman and Cybelle (Roberts) Workman.
Inez grew up in Purcell and attended Purcell schools. At age 14 she married the love of her life, Mitchell William Duren. They were married on Oct. 4, 1942 in Oklahoma City. Together Mitch and Inez raised two daughters, Chris and Karen. They moved to California in 1946 and while in California she attended nursing school at a Catholic Hospital to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. In 1962 her family moved back to Purcell and Inez worked as an LPN until she retired in 1991. For many years she worked at the old Purcell Hospital and later at the new hospital. She worked for various Doctors, including Dr. Long, Dr. Rollins, Dr. McCurdy and Dr. Stone. After she retired she worked part time for Kimberly Home Health, at Joseph Harp and at the Norman Veterans Center.
