Oran "Gale" Duncan was born Jan. 15, 1937, in Geary, Okla., to Oran David and Dorothy Ruth (Ames) Duncan. He passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Okla., at the age of 83.
Gale graduated from Geary High School. He met and married Doris Mae (Conradi) Shaklee April 5, 1975. The couple made their home in Watonga. Gale worked as a security guard for Hollytex Spinning Mill. He hand-delivered the mail in Geary for many years. After retiring Gale and Doris moved to Enid and he served as a foster grandparent at many elementary schools.
Gale loved being around children and cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Gale and Doris loved and served the Lord and both had a passion for volunteering at their churches.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O.D. and Dorothy Duncan, his step mother, Bill Duncan, wife Doris Duncan, step-daughter, Sharon Ogle, daughter-in-law Debbie Shaklee, great-grandson, Lincoln Ogle, son-in-law, David Ogle and brother-in-law, Bob Sisson.
Survivors include: his step-children, Randy Shaklee of Denton, Texas, Carol Coleman of Fairview, Okla., Susan Herndon and husband Darrell of Enid, Okla., and David Shaklee and wife Beth of Salem, Mo., numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one sister, Judy Sisson of Weatherford, Okla.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends.
