Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 11:00 a..m., 2739 Panama Lane. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 3, 2007 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Ray was born October 10, 1925 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Frank and Lydia Doremus. He has resided in Kern County since 1928. He worked several years for Lepek and Mullock Distributors and was with the Pepsi Cola company for 9 years. He then was self-employed in catering with Speedie Catering and Coffee Cart, serving many businesses in the City, and retired in 1992.
Ray was preceeded in death by both parents as well as his step-father, Whitey Stafford, his daughter, Patty, a step son-in-law, Raymond James Kili of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He leaves behind his beloved and devoted wife of 37 years, Luella (Lou), sister, Lola Harmon of Santa Maria, two sister-in-laws, Emma & Hardy Gilbreath, Mildred Woods, a son and daughter-in-law Michael and Debbie Doremus, son, Dean Ray Doremus, wife, Paula and their four children of Kansas City, Kansas, two granddaughters, Beckie and Darrick Grisham, Rhonda, a daughter-in-law and husband, Peggie and Jerry Norton of Las Vegas, Nevada. Three step grandchildren, Kore and Teri Kili - Rawn McMahon and Misti Kili. Six great grandchildren, Amanda Small, Madasyn McMahon, Natalie and Rachel Robles, Zoe Kili and Daniel McMahon, and many nieces and nephews.
