Amy Elizabeth Donnell, 48, lifelong Bartlesville resident, died Thursday in Bartlesville.
Amy was born the daughter of Jim Ray and Hattie Elizabeth (Parker) Goins on July 24, 1970, in Bartlesville. She was raised and educated in the area graduating from Bartlesville High School in 1988. Amy developed her love for animals from a young age. Growing up on the edge of town but outside the city limits, she was able to care for her chickens, horses and other farm animals. She spent as much time as she could outdoors enjoying nature.
Amy was a hard worker and her first full time job was at Oak Park School in the cafeteria, then at Atwood's for many years before joining Pioneer Loans. She was forced to give up work early in life due to her advanced MS. While on the job Amy met and fell in love with one of her clients, David Donnell and they finally tied the knot on June 10, 2010, in Bartlesville. Through the years David did everything he could to keep Amy active and happy.
Amy loved the outdoors - when she was able, she mowed not only her land but many of the neighbors' yards, as well. Later in life she enjoyed sitting on the front porch, simply watching the world go by. She enjoyed attending numerous school activities especially choir concerts and her nephews' many sporting events. Amy and David enjoyed spending time together, camping on their own land and often times out and about with family. The highlight of this gal's day was walking across the pasture to have coffee with her dad. She loved deeply and was loved dearly.
Amy is survived by her husband David of the home, daughter Tierney Asbury of Ochelata, mother Hattie Goins of Bartlesville, and sister Julie Miller and Bryan of Dewey along with nephews Caleb and Chase Miller. She is preceded in death by her father Jim Ray Goins.
Amy s family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home Dewey Chapel, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Wednesday, May 22, from 6-8 p.m. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home Dewey Chapel.
