Memorial services for Joe Donaldson, Sr., of Westville, Oklahoma will be held at Liberty High School in Holt, Missouri at a later date with burial in the Antioch Cemetery. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Hart Funeral Home of Westville, Oklahoma.
Joe Everett Donaldson, Sr., was born June 13, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri to John Nowlin Donaldson and Edith Iris Shugart. On August 8, 2008, he passed from this life at his home in Westville, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 25 days.
On August 20, 1981, Joe was married to Cheryl Jean Robinson in Holt, Missouri while on horse-back. He owned and operated Joe's Service in Holt and also worked at General Motors in Kanssas City, Missouri. Joe then moved to Westville, Oklahoma and worked for Baldor Electric as a stator maker until his retirement. Joe served as a volunteer at the Holt Community Fire Protection District. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holt, MO and a lifetime member of North American Hunting Club.
His parents, John Donaldson and Edith Shugart; his wife; Cheryl Donaldson, brother; Larry N. Donaldson and grandparents; Everett and Cleorah Shugart all preceded him in death.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Barbara H. Jones, of Independence, MO., Betty Garton and husband, Jeff, of Holt, MO., Joe Everett Donaldson, Jr., and wife, Kelly, of Holt, MO., Kathy Jo Cain and husband, Kevin, of Westville, OK, stepsons; Timothy W. Blevins, of Rogers, AR., and Jason L. Blevins, of Siloam Springs, AR., grandchildren; Tracy Jo Garton, Jeffrey D. "J. D." Garton,, Jr., Kimberlynn Jean Cain, Keysha Jo Cain, Gunner Dean Kole Cain, Troy M. Jones, Stephanie A. Jones, Steven B. Jones, Jr., Evan A. Donaldson, Kyle W. Donaldson, Cheyenne N. Blevins, Jacob L. Blevins, Landon W. Blevins, and Aidan L. Blevins, great grandchildren; Alexander "Xander" Garton, Mason Garton, Ashton Graham and Avsia Graham.
