Mr. James Davis "Buddy" Doenges, 67, of Bartlesville, died at 7 P.M. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. Memorial services for Mr. Doenges will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at First Church Bartlesville, located at 4715 Price Road. Memorial services are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Buddy Doenges was born at Ponca City, Oklahoma on September 8, 1948 to William Conrad Doenges and Elizabeth (Shannon) Doenges. He grew up and received education in Bartlesville and then at Culver Military Academy in Culver Indiana where he graduated in 1966. He then attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas where he graduated from their business school with a bachelor's degree in December 1971. He was married to Mary Pearl Trippet in Bartlesville in December 1968. He was employed with automobile dealerships in Austin, Texas and Dallas and while working at Continental Motors in Austin he sold Willie Nelson his first Mercedes. Buddy and Mary owned and operated a very popular and successful restaurant in Austin known as the Waller Inn until returning to Bartlesville to be near family. Buddy was involved in the family automobile dealership in Bartlesville and following his parents deaths became a rancher at the beloved family ranch east of Bartlesville. He loved to cook, travel and tell stories.
Mr. Doenges is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Patricia "Trisch" Doenges of Austin, Texas and Emily Brook Doenges Freeman of Valrico, Florida, two brothers, William S. Doenges and Robert S. Doenges both of Tulsa and four grandchildren, Amanda Nichole Doenges, Adriann Brook Doenges, Brooks Davis Freeman and Lillian "Lala" Pearl Freeman, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Rebecca Ann Dillon and his wife Mary Pearl Trippet Doenges in February 1977.
