Hollis Dockins Sr.

Hollis Dockins Sr., 63, of Amarillo died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Mark Zimmerman, pastor of Paramount Terrace Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Dockins was born in Apache, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1964 from Wellington. He was the retired owner of A&H Overhead Door Co. He married Ann Hellaway on Oct. 1, 1965, in Amarillo.

He was the backbone of the family. He was the best husband, daddy and grandpa and he will be missed dearly.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Hollee Phillips and husband, David, of Amarillo; a son, Hollis Dockins Jr. and wife, Monica, of Amarillo; three sisters, Kathleen Mote of Wellington, Katy Humprey of Wheeler and Casie Hixon of Waco; three brothers, Leon Dockins of Mobeetie, Elray Dockins of Washburn and Salty Dockins of Sayre; and four grandchildren, Andy Phillips, Brock Dockins, Brook Dockins and Brett Dockins, all of Amarillo.

A reception will follow the burial in Chaparral Hills Baptist Church.
