The celebration of life for Floyd E. Dobson, 84-year-old Enid resident is pending under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
The memorial service for Floyd E. Dobson, 84 year-old Enid resident, is April 28, 2022 at11:00AM in the Seventh day Advent Church. Pastor Dave Miller officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Floyd was born February 6, 1938 in Mulhall, Oklahoma to Leon and Esther (Faunce) Dobson and died Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in Garland Road Nursing Center.
He graduated from Wynona High School with the class of 1956. He then attended the University of Arkansas, where he studied mathematics. He enlisted in the National Guard. He owned and operated a bakery in Silom Springs for a time. He then worked as a chef for Phillips 66 and various colleges until his retirement.
During his retirement in Enid, he was very active in the Seventh day Adventist Church of which he was a charter member and Deacon. He also drove the van for the elderly and was active in the local food banks.
On October 11, 2015, he married June Wright.
He enjoyed traveling, gardening, wood-working, collecting stamps and collecting cars that he would do maintenance on.
Floyd is survived by his wife, June of the home; three children, Wayne C. Dobson; Sandra Grace Dobson; Rachel Lynn Wright; four step-children, Jana Bauder; Keith Pettyjohn; Lila Pettyjohn; Trudi Pettyjohn; three sisters, Frieda Cook; Phyllis Adkins; Donna Briggs; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doris Rollins and an infant brother and sister.
