Gary W. Doak, 63, of Canton, OK passed away on November 15th, 2017 in Clinton, OK. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 21st at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Canton Christian Church with Pastors Ronnie Kirk and Steve Driskill officiating. Gary was born on August 23rd, 1954 in Wetumka, OK to William Leslie and Freelin Ruth (Birdwell) Doak. He attended most of his school years at Thomas. Gary loved football and racing cars in his teenage years. He is lovingly remembered by his 7 siblings as the quiet, sweet brother. Shortly after high school, he began working in the Oil and Gas Sector where he spent the rest of his working years, mostly working as a pumper.
Gary's greatest and most precious accomplishments were his 14 grandchildren who adoringly referred to him as "Pa". Gary loved his family fiercely and his grandbabies could make his eyes light up at any time. Gary is also known for taking his kids, nieces, nephews and grandchildren on his famous "candy breaks" where they would get to go get a pop and candy at the store.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Les and Freelin Doak.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 31 years, Pam of the home; daughter Shameron Ahiers of Elk City, OK; daughter Jenn Asher and husband Darryl of Billings, MT; son Kendall Doak of Billings, MT; son Billy Doak and wife Ana of Canton, OK; daughter Kim Edler and husband Justin of Canute, OK; sister Carolyn Killman and husband Lonnie of Ringwood, OK; sister Winona Bridgeford of Canton, OK; sister Patty Conklin and husband Bill of Longdale, OK; brother LD Doak of Enid, OK; brother Randy Doak and wife Loretta of Okeene, OK; sister Darlene Doak of Canton, OK; sister Brenda Doak of Canton, OK; sister-in-law Sharon Pratt and husband Gary of Enid, OK; brother-in-law John Grauberger and wife Cindy of Okarche, OK; brother-in-law Jay Grauberger of Okeene, OK; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canton Christian Church or to the Canton/Longdale EMS.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing nurses and doctors at Jim Thorpe Inpatient Rehab facility in Elk City and Alliance Health Clinton for their amazing care during Gary's last few months.
