Marty Dirkes

June 5, 1967 ~ January 2, 2018

Marty Dirkes went to be with his heavenly father on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 in the Walker-Brown Funeral Home Chapel.

Marty was born in San Diego, CA on June 5, 1967, and the family moved to Dewey in 1967. He graduated from Ramona High School. During his high school years, he played football and kickboxed. He loved a good fight and was a fighter until the end in his battle with cancer. Marty could drive any machine, but his love was a black Peterbilt. In his career, he was a truck driver, mechanic and owned a truck parts store called Keep Truckn'. He was a singer, songwriter and bass guitar player with the band "West Haven". He loved to fish with his fiancée and friends at Grand Lake and in the last couple of years he was learning to play golf and travel. Marty was a great dad and helped raise many children into amazing adults.

Martin was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Dirkes.

He is survived by his fiancée, Terri, his mother, Janice, daughter, Ashley, 3 sisters and their families, Cindy, Pam and Jani and numerous other loved ones and friends.

A "Keep On Truckn" Celebration of Life service will be held at Walker Brown Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018.
