Walter Wilhelm Diehl, Choctaw, Oklahoma, resident, was born September 11, 1938, in Washington, D.C. and departed this life on December 1, 2016, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years.

Walter was the son of Joseph and Annie Limmer Diehl.

He married Bertha Mae Gardiner May, 11, 1961, in Maryland.

Walter worked as Firefighter in Washington, D.C. for many years, upon his retirement he moved to Oklahoma.

He was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Harrah, Oklahoma and the Choctaw Amateur Radio Club.

His parents, one son, Howard, one daughter, Kimberly and one granddaughter, Aubrey preceded Walter in death.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha, two daughters, Anna Keelean of Chandler, Oklahoma and Theresa Diehl of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, two sons, Jack Diehl of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Donald Diehl of Port Lavaca, Texas, one brother, Joseph Diehl of Selbyville, Delaware, eight grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler.

Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
