Salvatore DiDonato, 87, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in Edmond. He was born on March 11, 1931 in Isernia, Italy to Nicolino and Antonietta (Chiacchiari) DiDonato.
Salvatore immigrated to the United States in 1966. While living in Italy, he was a member of the Italian military. Salvatore worked for 24 years at David Sarnoff Research Center in Princeton, New Jersey. He retired in 1996.
Salvatore enjoyed gardening and landscaping, being outdoors, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Carmelo DiDonato and Peter DiDonato.
Salvatore will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 63 years, Angiolina (Fantozzi) DiDonato; his children, Nicolino and Laurie DiDonato, Claudio and Mary DiDonato, and Antoinette and David Saldon; his 6 grandchildren, Nicolino, Angelina, Salvatore, Claudio Jonathon, Nicole, and David, Jr. and his 5 great-grandchildren, Nicolino, Lorenzo, Vittorio Sophia, Luca, and Salvatore. He is also survived by brothers, Bruno Giovanni, Mario DiDonato, and Michael DiDonato, and his sister, Maria Assunta DiDonato.
Private family services were held Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
Services were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
