Nelson Edgar Dickinson

Nelson Edgar Dickinson
December 12, 1946 ~ July 31, 2020

Nelson Edgar Dickinson was born December 12, 1946 at Harper, Kansas to Paul and Dorothy (Utz) Dickinson. He departed this life on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Nelson graduated from high school at Harper, Kansas and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in theology from Midwest Christian College. Nelson honorably served our country in the United States Army. He married Zita Moore on December 27, 1966 at Canton, Oklahoma. Nelson was a longtime member of the Canton Christian Church, where he served in several capacities.

Nelson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Zita; one son, Paul Dickinson; and several brothers and sisters; Survivors include his two sons, William “Joe” Dickinson and wife Barbara of Sanford, North Carolina and Roger Dickinson and wife Julianne of Temecula, California; one brother, Keith Dickinson and wife Lois of Missouri; brother-in-law Ricky Moore of Canton, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Elva Byers of Cody, Wyoming; six granddaughters, Torilla, Meaghan, Fallon, Eileen, Eva and Amelia.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2020 at Canton Christian Church with Pastor Michael Grigsby officiating. Inurnment will follow in Harper, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Canton Christian Church with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
