Mr. Paul Franklin Dick, 72, of Dewey and retired Assistant Fire Chief for the Bartlesville Fire Department, died at 8:51 A.M. on Thursday, April 7, 2016 following a sudden illness.
Memorial services for Mr. Dick will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Eagles Lodge Annex located at 103 S. Johnstone in Bartlesville. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mr. Dick was born at Lenapah, Oklahoma on July 10, 1943 to Leon Campbell Dick and Nettie Frances (Lemmons) Dick. He grew up and received his education in Nowata and was married to Claudia Ann Duncan at Miami, Oklahoma on October 19, 1962.
They made their home in Dewey and he began his employment with the Bartlesville Fire Department in 1967. During his career he attended fire training courses at Oklahoma State University at Stillwater. He rose through the ranks at the department and became Assistant Fire Chief in 1979 until his retirement in 1988.
He then attended Tri County Tech in Bartlesville receiving electronics training. Mr. and Mrs. Dick operated Paul's TV in Dewey from the late 1980's until closing the business in the mid 1990's. He was then employed with Steve's TV in Bartlesville until his retirement several years ago.
Mr. Dick played Bluegrass music with his best friend, Bill Hogue on the mandolin and guitar, was an avid golfer who had recorded four hole in ones (two at Sunset Country Club and two at Adams Golf Club), and enjoyed pheasant hunting in South Dakota. He was also a Master Mason and Past Grand Master of the Dewey Masonic Lodge and a member of the Eagles Lodge in Bartlesville. He was known affectionately as Spiz to his grandsons and shared his love of music and hunting. Spiz was also an avid sports fan of his grandson, Duncan.
Mr. Dick is survived by his wife, Claudia Ann Dick of the home at Dewey, one daughter, Steffanie Chew and husband Barry of Amarillo, Texas, one son, Paul Hamilton Dick and wife Becky of Yukon, Oklahoma, three brothers, Donald Dick of Tuttle, Okla., Joe Dick of South Coffeyville, Okla., and John Dick of Bartlesville, two sisters, Lillian Crisp and Leona Hogue both of Nowata, and one grandson, Duncan Chew. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, one brother and one grandson, Byron Paul Chew.
