Dee Diamond, a native of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and resident of Houston, passed away in her home on Wednesday, June 7th. Born on August 3, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Ernest DeWitt and the late Mary Elizabeth Clapper of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Dee was well known for her love of gracious entertaining and her talent for cooking wonderful meals for friends and family. She enjoyed sharing her home and having company gathered around her large dining room table to share delicious food and lively conversation. Dee was gifted at sewing, playing the piano, and a committed volunteer. She enjoyed bridge, horseback riding, and bible study.
Dee never lost her continual quest for learning. Her home was filled with books, with titles depicting everything from history to geography and of her biggest passion; faith in Christ. She took matters into her own hands by educating herself on every topic regarding faith and Christ. There was never something out of reach for Dee to strive to master.
She spent what she thought of as the greatest part of her life as a homemaker, building a life for herself and her family, teaching them the skills they would need in life, the love of learning that would open the world to them, and the foundation of faith that would keep them anchored no matter where their lives could lead them. Her greatest desire was for those in her life to find joy and to have her family with her in Eternity. Her faith was so much a part of her that to know her was to know her love of God.
She is survived by her best friend and devoted husband of 68 years, James Lee Diamond. She is also survived by her eight children; Mike Diamond, Donna Brandon, David Diamond, Janet Diamond, Steve Diamond, Kay Diamond, Gary Diamond, and Karen Eckhart; 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
