Robert, fondly known as Bob, was born on December 19, 1951, in Blackwell, OK, to Ed and Ramona (Cheney) DeWitt. Bob grew up in Braman, OK, where he graduated from Braman High School in 1970. A talented football player, he played and loved the game. He attended Oklahoma State University and later married Mary Larchey on December 22, 1977, in Blackwell, OK. Bob and Mary were married for 46 years.
An intelligent, hard-working man, Bob held many titles in his life, but his favorite role was being a father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children. Bob would share his opinion without flinching or apology, but he never dismissed his children for the choices they made. He was their number one fan, always offering love, support, and encouragement. He adored his grandchildren and would light up the room with his smile when he was with them. Bob had a passion for farming and loved fishing with his sons and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by: his wife, Mary, of the home; daughters, Amy Geurin and her husband, Rodger, of Ponca City, OK; Katy Goodenough of Ponca City, OK; sons, Ed DeWitt and his wife, Tisha, of Stillwater, OK; Andy DeWitt and his wife, Tabitha, of Blackwell, OK; Tim DeWitt and Kayla Severin of Falls City, NE; grandchildren, Warren Gerboth, Grant Gerboth, Hayley Goodenough, Hunter Gaddis, Kynsly DeWitt, Tagen Chadrick, Tracen DeWitt, Conner DeWitt, Taylor DeWitt, and Presley DeWitt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ramona, and sister, Mildred Wilkey.
