Kirk Dale DeShazo, 83, of Dewey, ran in to the open arms of his Savior on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in Bartlesville, after a long and hard fought battle with Parkinson's disease.
Kirk was born November 4, 1934 in Bartlesville, graduating from Dewey High School in 1952, then joining the Marines. He shipped out the day after he married the love of His life, Jane Spaulding on March 13, 1954. After his honorable discharge, Kirk entered and graduated from the University of Oklahoma's School of Pharmacy. Following, he returned to Dewey to purchase his parents main-street Rexall Pharmacy, with his brother and lifetime business partner, Don. Not many years after, the partners started Boulevard Discount Pharmacy in Bartlesville in August of 1965.
Kirk spent the remainder of his life loving his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a reflection of his deep faith he was very devoted to the Dewey Christian Church where he served as Elder, music leader, and 40 year Sunday school teacher. He will always be remembered as a deeply loving husband, devoted father, influential church leader and respected business man.
Kirk is survived by his loving wife of the home Sue; two children, David DeShazo and Tracey of Silver Lake, KS, and Julie Cole and Jeff of Bartlesville; one brother Don DeShazo and Margaret of Dewey; two sisters Nona Pebworth and Chuck of Fayetteville, AR, and Sudie Freeland and Jeff of Dewey; five grandchildren, Jake Cole and Amanda of Dewey, Jacey Cole of Bartlesville, Rachelle Mullins and Travis of Reston, VA, Cohner DeShazo of Chanute, KS, and Dawson DeShazo of Silver Lake; and three great grandchildren, Kaylee, Landry and Adelle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Earl DeShazo and Tude Gordon, and sister Ann Hamilton.
Kirk's family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Sunday, Oct. 21, from 3-5 p.m. Visitation will also be held Saturday from 11-5 and Sunday 12-5.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at the Dewey First Christian Church. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel.
