Memorial services for Karl Wayne DeShazer, Sr., 67, of Tulsa, were held Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Bill Westmoland officiated and a private family interment followed. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
Karl was born July 13, 1943 in Osage, OK to Irvin Perry "Bill" and Ella Gertrude (Shuler) DeShazer. He passed away July 29, 2010 in Tulsa, OK.
Karl graduated from Skiatook High School in 1962. He worked as a heat exchange welder and as a Superintendent at Yuba Heat and transfer. He also was a gold and silversmith jeweler. Karl enjoyed country and western music, car racing, and football. He loved visiting with friends and fishing. He liked to dance and loved his pets.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Lee (Adams) DeShazer; daughter Tammy Denney and husband Frank of Sperry; sons, Karl Wayne DeShazer, Jr. of Sperry and Steven Sean DeShazer and wife Laura of Sperry; grandchildren, Frank Denney and wife Jeanie, Bobby Denney, Dusti Denney, Katie DeShazer, Tera Bilby, Chelsea DeShazer, and Claire DeShazer; great-grandchildren, America Denney, London Denney, and Kinzie Denney; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandsons; Jonathan Denney and Michael DeShazer; great-grandson, Gage Denney; parents, Bill and Ella DeShazer; brother, Billy Gene DeShazer; sisters, Lola (DeShazer) McPherson and Judy (DeShazer) Gordon; and other nieces and nephews.
