Lynnsey Dawn Dennis

July 17, 1985 ~ Feb. 8, 2009

Lynnsey Dawn Dennis, 23, who was living in Los Angeles, Calif., pursuing her dream, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, in Los Angeles in a single car accident.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, in the Velma-Alma High School Gymnasium, with the Rev. Jimmy Brackeen of The Christian Center in Chickasha, officiating.

The family will have a private interment service. Services are under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home in Duncan, Okla.

Visitation for Lynnsey will be in the Grantham Velma Chapel beginning Friday afternoon. The family will receive friends at the Dennis resident in Velma on Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon.

She was born on July 17, 1985, in Chickasha, Okla., the daughter of L.W. and Dawn Morgan Dennis.

Lynnsey was a graduate of the Velma-Alma Class of 2003, and earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Communication and Advertising in 2007 from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla. At SOSU she was a member of Tri Sigma Sorority, student government and worked in radio broadcasting for Savage Storm.

Those loved ones left to honor her memory include her parents, L.W. and Dawn Dennis of Velma; three sisters: Laurean Dennis of Duncan, Crystal Smart and husband Jimmy of Frederick, Okla., and Jennifer Clements of Duncan; one brother, Lowell Jay Dennis and wife Barbara Dennis of Duncan; grandmothers, Doshie Dennis and Venita Morgan of Marlow, Okla.; three nieces: Connor Clements, Sunny Dennis and Stella Dennis; and four nephews: Major Brooks, Nicholas Brooks, Tyler Brooks and Carson Clements.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather Walter Dennis.Bearers will be Zac Pogue, Trey Palaco, Casey Hayes, Jimmy Castor, Jared Condit and Dusty Presgrove. Honorary bearers are classmates of Velma High School Class of 2003.

In lieu of flowers, memorials gifts may be made to the Lynnsey Dawn Dennis Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o of First National Bank, P.O. Box 309, Velma, Okla. 73491, or BancFirst Marlow, P.O. Box 193, Marlow, Okla. 73055.
