Joe Edward DeLong, Jr., 58 year old Woodward resident, died Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. A Memorial Service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Joe Edward DeLong Jr. was born December 9, 1959 in Liberal, Kansas to Joe Edward DeLong Sr. an Irene Sue (Hamlin) Simmons. Joe grew up in Meade, Kansas and attended Meade Public Schools. He was a Consultant in the oilfield for many years and most recently was a truck driver for US Express.
He enjoyed motorcycle riding, going to the lake, boating, but most of all he loved being with his family.
He is survived by his sons: Cory DeLong and wife Lisa, Eric DeLong, Aaron DeLong and fiancé' Catherine; two daughters: Amanda DeLong and husband Justin, Shayla DeLong and husband Devry; three brothers: Jim DeLong, Darin DeLong and Shanna, Glen DeLong; 12 grandchildren: Trevyn, Shane, Keigan, Keyara, Haylee, Trentyn, Dayson, Raelynn, Jaxin, Kylah, Waylon, Ahri; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Adam DeLong, Ashlee Hicks and Cory; great nieces, Hadlee and Harlow; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Simmons, his father, Joe DeLong Sr., and one sister Pam DeLong.
