DIMMITT - Americo DeLaPaz, 81, died Friday, June 18, 2004, in Hereford.
Prayer services will be at 5:30 p.m. today in Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home Ivy Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with George Lule, of Church of God of the First Born in Hereford, officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens.
Mr. DeLaPaz married Eleuteria Ramos in 1955 in Dimmitt. He worked as a farm labor crew leader for several Castro County farmers.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Amelia Guajardo of Dimmitt, Amanda Hamby of Houston, Janie Luna of Uvalde, Elva Jimenez of Eastland and Maria DeLaPaz of St. Paul, Minn.; two sons, Americo DeLaPaz Jr. of Guymon, Okla., and Cecilio DeLaPaz of Texas; 45 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
