Joseph Jasper Deaver age 82 of Purcell, OK passed away peacefully at home Friday, March 16, 2018 surrounded by his family. Joe was born November 12, 1935 in Oklahoma City. He was the youngest of six children born to Roland Jasper Deaver and Katie (Kier) Deaver. Joe grew up in south OKC and graduated from Capitol Hill High School with the class of 1954. While in high school he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and after graduating he proudly served two years in active duty and six years in reserve duty. Joe served time on the USS Willett and on the US Dennis J. Buckley ships.
Joe married his best friend and life partner, Mable Hannah Crader. They were married on November 5, 1955 in Oklahoma City. They lived in OKC for a short time before moving to Purcell in 1964. While in high school, Joe began working for ONG. After returning home from the service he continued his life long career with ONG. He later retired as a Supervisor after 35 years with the company.
While living in Purcell, Joe was a member of the Purcell-Lexington American Legion Post 0301. He also was a faithful Christian, Deacon and member of Landmark Church in Purcell.
