Judy Kay Deatelhauser, age 68, of Cleveland, Oklahoma passed away from this life on Tuesday evening, February 21, 2023 at her home. Judy was born August 5, 1954, in Tawas, Michigan to Ronald and Willodean (Douglas) Alma. She was raised and received her education at Tawas, later moving to Flint, Michigan. Judy was first married to Fred Joslin and to this union two sons were born. On January 14, 1983, Judy and Charles L. Deatelhauser, Jr were united in marriage at Tawas, MI. Because of his military career, they lived in several places, including Michigan, Nebraska, back to Michigan, Panama City, Florida, Columbus, Mississippi, and Schertz, Texas. While in Florida, Judy was baptized into the Christian faith in the Gulf of Mexico. Over the years, Judy worked as a nurse aid, retail clerk for Walmart and lastly and most important, was a babysitter to her grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting, and had knitted blankets for family members.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include her husband of 40 years – Charles; her sons: Kelly “Wayne” Alma of New Mexico and Joey Dale Alma and wife Cindy Martinez of Schertz, Texas; a daughter Krista Nicole Deatelhauser of Cleveland; two brothers Rex Alma and Kevin Davis and wife Rose; and two sisters Linda Davis and Beth Ann Schmitt and husband Jamison. Also surviving are three grandchildren Nathan, Jacob and Lexi Alma, and many nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Kathy, Brenda, and Terry.
Visitation for Judy will be held on Saturday, February 25th from 10am till 2:00pm at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Cleveland, Oklahoma. Sunday, February 26th from 1pm till 5pm at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Cleveland, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be Monday, February 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Jonathan Schultz of Compassus Hospice officiating. Services and interment have been entrusted to the Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
