Linda Adell (Mead) Dawkins

Linda Adell (Mead) Dawkins
May 04, 1949 ~ November 30, 2020

Linda Adell Dawkins, age 71, passed away on November 30 due to complications associated with Covid. She was born May 4, 1949 near Dover, Oklahoma to Emmitt and Alice Mead.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Bonnie Price.

Linda is survived by her husband David; son Mark and wife Stacey; son Brett and wife Dianne; son Scott and wife Kari; grandchildren Reese, Julie, Lucia, Carter, Coleman, Commodore, and Izabelle; sister Alice Kay Redwine, sister Judy Street; brother Ronnie Mead; beloved dogs Missy, Chloe, and Dee Dee; and many other family members and friends.

David (who is originally from Northampton, England) and Linda were setup on a blind date, quickly realized they were soulmates, and they celebrated their 50th year of marriage this year. They raised their three loving sons in Oklahoma and eventually settled down in Piedmont.

Professionally, Linda followed her childhood dreams and became a registered nurse working in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit for several years. After earning her Master of Nursing Education degree and later achieving her Board Certified credentials, she then went on to oversee two nursing programs and became the President of the National League for Nursing in Oklahoma. After she retired as the Director of Clinical Education at Deaconess Hospital in 2015,

Linda enjoyed her travels around the world as well as spending time with David working on projects on their acreage while loving all their wild animals and being the best Nana to her grandchildren and their families.

Linda’s Memorial Service will be 10:00 am, Friday December 18, 2020 at the Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene.
