William E. "Bill" Dawes

William E. "Bill" Dawes
October 8, 1951 ~ February 13, 2022

William (Bill ) E. Dawes went to be with his Lord on February 13, 2022. Bill was born October 8, 1951 in Yale, Oklahoma to Guy Dawes and Doris (Christy) Dawes. He was their only child, but Bill had a couple of older step brothers. He lived on the ranch outside of Blackburn his whole life.

Bill had many occupations in his life. Truck driver, cattle buyer, they had dog auctions out at the ranch for a few years, and his latest 25 or more years he worked as a operator for Baker Hughes in Sand Springs, and of course keeping up the ranch.

Bill went to grade school in Blackburn before being transferred to Cleveland where he graduated in 1969. He attended OSU for a year, then started his cattle buying.

Bill had race horses and bred and raced horses for a few years and was very proud that he had descendants of Secretariat for years, he loved walking down the bank to the Arkansas River and fish especially when the sand bass were running and in later years enjoyed going to the casinos.

Bill married Sara Dawes in July of 2002 and he automatically because a father and grandfather. That was a big step for him but he enjoyed his boys and grandkids as he never had children of his own.

Bill left his wife Sara of the home, his oldest brother Don Dawes and wife Lillian (Mesa, Arizona), son Tony Gose (Yukon, Okla) and grandsons Trevor and Jack Gose, son Toby Gose (Cincinnati, Ohio) and grandchildren Bryanna, Nicholas, Nichole and Megan, son Randy Gose (Blackwell, Okla) and wife Monica and grandchildren Lucky, Kathleen, Taryn, and Josh, son Dale Walton ( on the Ranch) and wife Jessica and granddaughters Addison and Ryleigh. Then there were also a few of those Great Grandchildren . Many more in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ralph, Alvin and Lloyd.
