Jimmie Joe "Jim" Davison

Jimmie Joe "Jim" Davison
February 13, 1937 ~ June 28, 2026

On June 28, 2026, Jimmie Joe "Jim" Davison, 89, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at Journey Home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jim was born on February 13, 1937, in Columbus, Kansas, to George L. Davison and Goldie (Mapes) Davison. On September 16, 1956, he married the love of his life, Barbara Lee Dixon, in Parsons, Kansas. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, sharing more than 64 wonderful years of marriage before Barbara's passing in 2021.

Jim spent his early career managing Food Town Grocery Stores before becoming a route salesman for Rainbow Bread, where he faithfully served the communities along Highway 75 until his retirement in 1997. To many, he was simply known as "The Breadman," always ready with a friendly smile, a wave, and a conversation.

When he wasn't working, Jim found his greatest enjoyment on the water. As a longtime member of the Bartlesville Bass Club, he spent countless hours fishing the lakes of northeast Oklahoma, making lasting friendships and treasured memories. He was a baseball fanatic of the Saint Louis Cardinals and the Oklahoma State Cowboys football and tired not to miss watching their games. More than anything, Jim loved spending time with his family and watching it grow through the generations.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Lee (Dixon) Davison; his parents, George L. Davison and Goldie (Mapes) Davison of Columbus, Kansas; and his parents-in-law, John Dixon and Maude (Minson) Dixon of Parsons, Kansas.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Vicki Davison Barnes and her husband, Brian Barnes, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; his son, Craig Davison and his husband, Brian Epp, of Denver, Colorado; and his cherished grandchildren: Jason Patrick and wife, Jessie, and their daughter, Lilyana, of Owasso, Oklahoma; Lindsey Harmon and her husband Zach, and their daughter, Addyson Lee, of Owasso, Oklahoma; Ashley Humphrey and her husband, John, and their children, Zachary, Zoey, Bradley, and Burkley, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Carter McKay Epp and Jenny McInerny of Denver, Colorado; Nevin McKay Epp of Denver, Colorado; and Alana McKay Epp of Denver, Colorado.

Jim's family will forever remember his steady work ethic, generous heart, and the love he had for those closest to him.

A private family celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest beside Barbara at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons, Kansas.

Friends who wish may sign the online guestbook and leave condolences through Stumpff Funeral Home.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Journey Home for the kindness, dignity, and exceptional care they provided to Jim during his final days. They also want to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Compassus Hospice for their unwavering support, comfort, and compassionate care throughout his journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Journey Home, 900 NE Washington Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006
