Richard Lemual "Diick" Davis

Richard Lemual "Diick" Davis
February 9, 1944 ~ August 10, 2014 (age 70)

Richard Lemual Davis was born February 9, 1944 in Oklahoma City, OK to Clarence and Virginia Davis.  Richard went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2014. 

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Virginia and his sister Clara Hayslet. 

He is survived by wife Anna of the home; sons, Rodd and Amy Davis of Willis OK, Mark and Trena Davis of Carney, OK, Mike and Brandi Davis of Washington, OK; sister, Dora Lee Smith of Cleveland, OK, and his 9 Grandchildren Jonah, Luke, Laney, Jace, Cash, Destry, Rylee, Clay and Caleb Davis.  

Richard “Dick” Davis graduated from Norman High School in 1962.  After high school Dick attended the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City Community College. Dick served his country in the Navy from 1963-1967 on the USS North Hampton.  He served during the Cuban conflict and Vietnam War.  He served as a Radioman and trained in electronics.  After the military, he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration.  He started in 1967 and retired in 1994.  He started out his career as a Teletype Repair Technician and worked his way up to retiring as the Branch Manager.    Dick served as the President of many organizations including Washington Public Schools School Board; Lions Club; Washington Little League Association and Heart of Oklahoma All Sports Association.  He a past Master and Secretary of the Washington Masonic Lodge # 406; Member of the Oklahoma State Board of Realtors; Planning Commission  member for Town of Goldsby, and served on many other boards and committees.  Dick served as a little league coach for his sons for many years and received numerous community service awards.  His most recent appointment was on the Board of Directors for the McClain County 911 Trust Authority.  Dick will be remembered as someone who loved life and enjoyed people.

Arrangements for Dick and his family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, OK.  Online condolences may be shared at www.HavenbrookFuneralHome.com.
