Rick Davis
December 1, 1951 ~ February 2, 2024

Rick Davis departed this life February 2, 2024, at the age of 72 in his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by his loving family.

Rick was born December 1, 1951, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Carl Link and Mary Etta (Friend) Davis. Rick grew up in Cleveland where he began school and graduated from Cleveland High School with the Class of 1971. During his time in high school, he was an active part of the Cleveland Tiger football and basketball teams. In October 1972, Rick married Debra Ann Carter and they had two sons, Justin, and Garry.

Following high school, Rick began working for Indian Electric Cooperative as a member of the brush crew. He was promoted to the position of full time Laborer in 1970, and to Ground man in 1971. He began the Journeyman Lineman program in 1972 and became Foreman in 1977. Once again, Rick was promoted to Operations Superintendent in 1991, Manager of Operations in 1994, Manager of Operations and Engineering in 2005, and General Manager on January 31, 2018. Rick retired from Indian Electric in 2021 and was the longest active employee in Indian Electrics history with 51 ½ years of dedicated service.

On June 23, 2005, Rick was united in marriage to Dawn Ann Bowling. Upon retirement, Rick and wife Dawn were able to travel extensively. They toured throughout Europe, the Caribbean, Alaska, and Hawaii, while visiting historical landmarks which were part of what Rick considered his bucket list.

Rick always enjoyed the lake house at Grand Lake and spending time in Destin, Florida. He was an avid fan of OU Football and attended many games for fifty-plus years. He loved golfing with his sons and tinkering with his souped-up Mustangs. Following a nice meal, Rick always enjoyed sitting down with a good cigar and a Crown on the rocks. Rick’s most prized possessions were his children, grandchildren, and close friends.
