Peggy Louise (Lowrey) Davis

Peggy Louise (Lowrey) Davis
November 18, 1936 ~ June 10, 2015

Peggy Louise (Lowrey) Davis of Stillwater and former long-time resident of Yale went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, in Yale.

Peggy was born on November 18, 1936, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to the late Silas Clark and Sarah Esther (Phillips) Lowrey.

She grew up in the Cushing and Yale areas and graduated from Yale High School in 1955.

Peggy married James Thomas Davis on November 13, 1955, in Cushing. James preceded her in death on September 11, 2006.

Peggy is survived by her daughter Linda Myers of Broken Arrow; grandson Jonas Myers of St. Louis, MO; great-grandsons Cameron and Jaxon Myers of St. Louis, MO; sister Betty (Lowrey) Hicks of Rocky Pt., Long Island, New York; Betty Davis of Florida; Ryan and Ally Posey of Cushing; Rachel Failing and Autumn Posey of Ponca City; and many other close family members and friends.

Peggy had retired as a long-time employee of Stillwater Wal-Mart, having worked initially as a food demonstrator and then in the deli. She had an incredible work ethic and was loved dearly by her co-workers and customers alike. She never met a stranger. To know her was to love her.

She was an advocate for children and gave monthly to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She was also an accomplished oil painter and artist, having studied under the late Jacques Hans Gallrein of Stillwater.

Peggy loved the Lord and was a passionate prayer warrior.

She was an incredibly strong woman that had overcome many adversities in her life. She succumbed to serious health issues and personal heartaches she had struggled with the past few years.

It was Peggy's desire to have no service.

She was a tremendously loving mother, grandmother, relative, and friend who was fully aware of and thankful for those who returned her love while she was alive. She did not want to be mourned in death.

Peggy firmly believed in and held fast to the adage "by your actions you are known." She will be dearly missed by those who held her close in their hearts.

Condolences and online guest book are available at www.palmermarlerfh.com.

Contributions can be made in Peggy's name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or online at www.stjude.org.
