Nettie Jane (Spaugh) Shaw Davis

September 9, 1901 ~ July 23, 1970

Nettie Jane Spaugh, daughter of Emma Sides and Charles A. Spaugh, was born September 9, 1901 at Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She passed away July 23, 1970 in the Sayre hosptial.

She moved with her family from North Carolina to the Durham community in 1919. She attended Durham School and was a member of the first graduating class from Durham High School.

She married Matt R. Shaw March 22, 1931. He died May 11, 1965. On May 6, 1969, she married Austin R. Davis.

She joned the Brethren Church when a young girl and has been a member of the Crawford Baptist Church for several years. When living in Cheyenne, she attended the Baptist Church here.

She has lived in the Durham, Crawford, and Cheyenne communities since coming to Oklahoma in 1918.

Survivors are her husband of the home; her children, Ray of Los Angeles, California; Norma Jean Selby of Phillips, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Archie T. Gain of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Pearl Spaugh of Pampa, Texas; two brothers, Wilbur J. Spaugh of Los Angeles, California; and Orville R. Spaugh of Berkley, California.

Burial took place in Prairie Dell Cemetery, Gem City, Texas.
